Albemarle

Albemarle Corporation has provided an update to the previously announced realignment of its global business units resulting from its acquisition of Rockwood Holdings, Inc., in January. The company has announced its senior leadership team and business and functional leaders consistent with the realignment and will announce its first quarter operating results pursuant to the new structure.

As the company continues the organisational design process, it will work with the relevant works councils in the jurisdictions in which it operates. Albemarle has entered into a communications agreement with the German Works Councils that will govern this process in Germany and has commenced the negotiation process with a goal to announce the new structure as quickly as possible.

Parallax

Parallax Energy has announced the acquisition of Louisiana LNG Energy, LLC. This marks the second mid scale natural gas liquefaction and export project undertaken by Parallax this year. Louisiana LNG is being developed in Plaquemines Parish, southeast Louisiana, and is located on the East bank of the Mississippi River between New Orleans and Venice, Louisiana. Louisiana LNG initiated the FERC process in July last year, and has applied for permits to export LNG to both Free Trade Agreement and non-Free Trade Agreement countries.

The first project, Live Oak LNG, was announced earlier this year and is located in Calcasieu Parish, on the west bank of the Calcasieu River in southwest Louisiana near Lake Charles. The facility is being designed for average production of 5.2 million tpy production and will include two storage tanks and marine loading berth. The startup date is anticipated for late 2019.

Solenis LLC celebrated the grand opening of its new World Headquarters on April 27. Located at 3 Beaver Valley Road in Wilmington, Delaware the headquarters will currently accommodate approximately 120 employees supporting a variety of corporate functions for the specialty chemicals company, which was previously known as Ashland Water Technologies. Space for additional expansion has been allocated.
