Argentina
Petrobras is in talks to sell its stakes in refineries and other oil assets in Argentina to the domestic company Oil Combustibles. The deal is worth approximately US$ 400 million. This is part of Petrobras’ five year plan to sell all non-core assets to fund exploration and expansion plans.
California
It is likely that BP will restart the gasoline production unit at its Carson facility after over a month of maintenance. BP has made a filing with the South Coast Air Quality Management declaring that flaring, usually associated with a restart, could take place over the next few weeks.
North Dakota
MDU Resources Group Inc. and Calumet Speciality Products Partners, LP, have announced the formation of a joint venture to build a diesel refinery in North Dakota. The partnership will also operate the plant under the name Dakota Prairie Refining, LLC. Production is expected to be 20 000 bpd at the new facility.
Texas
Motiva Enterprises LLC has restarted the FCC unit at its Port Arthur refinery after a minor malfunction earlier last week. Planned maintenance is also being carried out at the facility at the moment.Adapted from various sources by Claira Lloyd.
