Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Voith Turbo North America has been recognized by its parent company, Voith GmbH, for reaching 1000 days without a lost time accident. The recognition is for Voith Turbo facilities and workers across US, Canada, and Mexico.

The company officially reached the mark on 26 June 2014. It has also reached over one million hours worked since a lost time accident.

In February, Voith Turbo received the Governor’s Award for Safety Excellence from the Pennsylvania Department of Labor and Industry. This award recognized successful employer-employee safety programs that produce tangible safety improvements. Out of more than 9200 eligible companies in the state, 56 submitted applications and only 10 received awards.

Additionally, in 2012 and 2013, Voith Turbo’s facility in Sacramento, CA won the Golden Gate Safety Award.

Norm Boisvert, Chief Administrative Officer at Voith Turbo in York commented: “Safety is a top priority across Voith Turbo and the entire Voith family, and today’s milestone is evidence of the commitment to safety demonstrated to every man and woman working for Voith Turbo in North America. 1000 days without a lost time accident is an important milestone, and one we have strived to reach for nearly three years. We look forward to continuing our commitment to safety excellence”.
