ABB’s Safety Execution Center (SEC) in Ostrava, Czech Republic has been certified by TÜV. ABB’s SEC applies a functional safety management system (FSMS) for the delivery and implementation of safety system projects in accordance to international industry standards, including IEC 61508 and IEC 61511.
In Czech Republic, ABB’s Oil and Gas business has implemented numerous safety systems for safety related applications covering all types of protective and mitigation safety instrumented systems (SIS) such as emergency shutdown (ESD), process shutdown (PSD), fire and gas (F&G) and burner managements systems (BMS).
Anders Kornblad, Operation Center Manager, said: “This certification is a key milestone in our strategic development towards becoming a broad automation and safety system execution centre. ABB's global process automation operation centre in Ostrava is continuing its growth and can now serve oil and gas customers even better.”
