Gasoline and diesel price movements: Week ending 25 June 2014
Gasoline
The US average retail price of gasoline increased by two cents to US$ 3.70/gal. as of 23 June 2014, 13 cents higher than the same time last year.
Prices increased in all regions except for the Midwest, where the price decreased two cents to US$ 3.69/gal. Rocky Mountains and Gulf Coast prices increased the most, up 8 cents to US$ 3.61/gal. and up 7 cents to US$ 3.49/gal, respectively. The East Coast price increased by three cents to US$ 3.67/gal. The West Coast price increased by one cent to US$ 4.01/gal.
Diesel
The national average diesel fuel price increased four cents to US$ 3.92/gal., 8 cents higher than the same time last year.
Price increased in all regions. The West Coast price showed the highest increase, up 6 cents to US$ 4.05/gal. Midwest and Gulf Coast prices each increased four cents, to US$ 3.88/gal. and US$ 3.81/gal., respectively. The East Coast and Rocky Mountains prices both increased two cents, to US$ 3.99/gal. and US$ 3.91/gal. respectively.
Propane
US propane stocks increased by 2.4 million bbls last week, to 53.7 million bbls as of 20 June 2014. This is 1.2 million bbls (2.1%) lower than a year ago. Gulf Coast inventories increased by 1.5 million bbls and Midwest inventories increased by 0.6 million bbls. East Coast inventories increased by 0.3 million bbls and Rocky Mountain/West Coast inventories increased by 0.1 million bbls.
Propylene non-fuel use inventories represented 7.5% of total propane inventories.
