ITT Corporation is expanding its manufacturing operations in Westminster, South Carolina, by investing approximately US$1 million to build a new test facility. The investment is part of a total of US$2.5 million that the company expects to invest in the facility over the next five years.
The addition provides a new specialised testing facility for natural gas vehicle (NGV) components, which are part of the company’s highly engineered Conoflow brand of products. These NGV components consist of compressed natural gas pressure regulators and liquid natural gas regulators for heavy vehicles.
“This expansion will allow us to deliver our latest advancements in natural gas valve technologies into this exciting and expanding global market, giving us the ability to better meet the needs of our customers with the highest quality products and services they have come to know from ITT,” said Jeff Weisbeck, Commercial Director for ITT’s Control Technologies business. “We look forward to continuing to grow our business and product capacity at the Westminster facility.”
Plant Manager Rob Hartman said, “We have been a member of the Oconee County community for more than 25 years and are pleased to be able to grow our presence here. This facility expansion will give us enhanced capabilities to test natural gas vehicle components, which are an integral part of the strategic plan for the Control Technologies business.”
