Gazprom and Egypt discuss LNG sales

Alexey Miller, Chairman of the Gazprom Management Committee, and Mounir Fakhry Abdel Nour, Egypt’s Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, took part in a working meeting during the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum 2015.

During the meeting, the two parties addressed the current issues and prospects for bilateral cooperation development in the gas sector, namely expansion of LNG supplies from the Gazprom portfolio to regasification terminals in Egypt.

Egypt is the second largest natural gas producer in Africa behind Algeria. The Egyptian Government controls the energy sector via the Ministry of Petroleum. Individual segments of the oil and gas industry are regulated by the state run EGPC (Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation) and EGAS (Egyptian Natural Gas Holding Company).
