Belgium
Total Petrochemicals has awarded a contract to IDBS as it has selected the E-WorkBook for Chemistry to manage all data generated at the Total Research & Development centre in Feluy. The software will enable Total to operate simplified analytical, medicinal, synthetic and polymer processes.

Egypt
Egyptian Petrochemicals Holding Co. has already started receiving bids for its proposed petrochemicals complex. The facility will be constructed in Alexandria, will crack ethane in to ethylene and produce 750 000 tpy. Bidders currently include Saipem, Toyo Engineering & Construction and Samsung Engineering & Construction.

Pulau Bukom
The Pulau Bukom petrochemical complex will be inaugurated on 4th May 2010. The facility is owned by Shell Eastern Petrochemicals. The facility is located in proximity to Shell’s Bukom refinery, also located on the island off Singapore. The facility will produce 800 000 tpy of ethylene and 750 000 tpy of monoethylene glyco. The project cost approximately US$ 3 billion to complete.

Saudi Arabia
Saudi Aramco is considering altering the location of the petrochemicals complex planned for construction in Ras Tanura. The facility will cost approximately US$ 17 billion to construct and other locations for consideration include Jubail and Ras al-Zour.
