Gas processing to be a key focus of Gastech exhibition

From new physical gas sweetening processes and FLNG vessel developments to enzyme-based carbon capture techniques, the gas processing industry is constantly evolving, both in terms of technology and processes, at a pace of change that only accelerates with time. Gastech provides the platform to showcase these innovations, along with addressing the accompanying imperatives to ensure continued safety, dependability and efficiency through the exchange of firsthand knowledge and experience.

With exhibitors including Petrobras, who just signed a contract to add a new Hydrogen Generation Unit at their Refap Refinery in Brazil; Gazprom, who in January agreed to a joint feasibility study with Japan for a potential LNG/CNG facility near Vladivostok; and GE Oil & Gas, who recently won a $32 million upgrade contract for the Malvinas NGL plant in Peru, the Gastech exhibition is a crucial destination at which to meet the movers and shakers of the natural gas industry. As the Gas Processors Association (GPA) states, “Gastech is an exhibition that provides a solid platform for our members and like-minded organisations to develop new business opportunities.”

New for 2011 are the free-to-attend exhibition seminars, the Centres of Technical Excellence (CoTEs). The CoTEs are educational hubs for exhibition visitors featuring technical sessions highlighting case studies, showcasing the latest technology and demonstrating industry innovation. Gastech’s Gas Processing CoTE aims to address both the accelerating evolution of the industry and the necessity for continuous training, instruction and assessment of standards by providing a day of sessions focused on a variety of key developments in the sector.

The Gas Processors Association (GPA) will be scheduling these Gas Processing seminar-workshops in conjunction with Gastech, with a programme covering the challenges of carbon storage, technical aspects of CO₂ pipeline safety, liquefaction techniques and LNG technology and its significance, amongst other material. Hosted by experts in the processing field and relevant industry media titles, the sessions will offer a vital educational focal point for interested attendees by concentrating attention on specific case studies and new product presentations.
