Excelerate

Excelerate Energy L.P has completed the first ship to ship (STS) transfer of LNG at the Engro Elengy LNG Terminal located in Port Qasim, Pakistan. Excelerate’s floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU), Exquisite, received 130 000 m3 of LNG from the FSRU Excelerate using the double banked LNG transfer system. This transfer also marks the company’s 500th commercial STS operation using the double banked cryogenic transfer system technology developed by Excelerate.

Commissioned in late March 2015, the terminal initially employed the Exquisite for both cargo delivery and regasification purposes. The terminal will continue to receive LNG supply via periodical STS transfers allowing for the continuous flow of gas into the local gas distribution system.

NuStar

The Port of Corpus Christi has approved a lease for NuStar Energy LP, which would give NuStar the space to develop another private marine loading dock at its North Beach Terminal in Corpus Christi, Texas. NuStar is developing plans for the new dock and hopes it will be completed in the second quarter of 2017. It will be designed to load Suezmax class vessels at rates up to 30 000 bbls/hr and the ability to expand to 50 000 bbls/hr.

Some of the features expected as a part of this project include a new pile supported dock, a state of the art metering system, vapour control system, and a dock structure with three loading arms. With this new dock, NuStar would have access to four loading docks in the Port of Corpus Christi, including two private docks, and would be able to load crude oil onto ships simultaneously on all four docks at a maximum rate of 90 000 bbls/hr.
