Certified Gasolines

CITGO marketer Certified Gasolines, CITGO Petroleum, local Staten Island CITGO retailers and the CITGO Fueling Good Road Trip have joined forces to donate US$ 5500 in CITGO Gift Cards to the Pediatric Center at Staten Island University Hospital.

Donna Proske, executive director of the hospital said, ‘Staten Island University Hospital’s commitment to our community is integral to our founding missions and as important today as it was 153 years ago. Events and partnerships like the CITGO Fueling Good visit allows us to form meaningful connections with our neighbours.’

CH2M Hill

The Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) recently announced the receipts of its 2014 Project/Team Awards, and CH2M Hill is pleased to share that tow of its design build projects, including the Agua Nueva Water Reclamation Facility, Tucson, Arizona and the City of Wilsonville’s Wastewater Treatment Plant, Wilsonville, Oregon, received National Merit Awards in the Water/Wastewater category. CH2M Hill also received a National Award of Merit for its work on delivering he Ohio Department of Transportation’s I-71/I-670 Interchange. The awards celebrate exemplary application of Design Build Done Right project delivery for projects that achieved best value, while also meeting design and construction quality, cost and schedule goals.

Duke Energy

Duke Energy is continuing to make major progress cleaning up an overnight spill that occurred on 18 August into the Ohio River. The company is working closely with the US EPA, US Coast Guard, Ohio EPA, Ohio Department of Natural Resources, Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection and local agencies in response to the spill.

Cleanup operations continue around the clock. Significant amounts of oil are being reclaimed from strategically placed oil containment booms, skimmers and vacuums used to collect the oil.

GTC

GTC Technology is expanding its European operations with the opening of a new office in Bucharest. GTC Technology Romania srl will serve as a full service regional site for GTC’s EPCm, engineering, energy services and process equipment business units.

Mircea Geana, General Manager, Bucharest office said, ‘with a significant client base in Europe, GTC looks to the future with confidence that our new office will add the resources in both expertise and manpower needed to manage complex turnkey projects. Our new facility, along with GTC’s office in Brno, Czech Republic, will work closely with our customers and partners to ensure that they benefit from our projects and services.’

Specialist Services

The Board of Specialist Services Group and of Labtech Services Limited have welcomed Paul Duncan as the new Managing Director of Labtech Services Limited in Aberdeen. Ian Rogers, Specialist Services Group CEO said, ‘we are delighted that Paul is joining the group to take up this most important role within our European business. He comes with outstanding credentials and brings a great depth of knowledge and experience in business development across Europe and North America.’

TUV SUD

TUV SUD has announced the strategic acquisition of RCI Consultants Inc., Houston, Texas, thus expanding its suite of services for the oil and gas industries. RCI Consultants specialise in consultancy services, assisting their clients in development, construction, and installation of production facilities as well as long distance transportation pipelines utilised for the oil and natural gas industries.
