Samson appoints Chief Digital Officer

He will be responsible for IT operations and continuing the expansion of the digital infrastructure along the company‘s entire value chain. Pötter will succeed Peter Knapp in this position, who left the company on 31 July 2018.
“We are delighted to have Thorsten Pötter join us. As a recognised expert in digitisation in the process industry, his expertise will allow us to continue the intense transformation process already in progress at Samson,” declared Dr. Andreas Widl, CEO of Samson Aktiengesellschaft.
Pötter held various positions within Research and Development, Business IT and Operational IT at Bayer AG. In his last position, he was head of the Manufacturing IT in the Engineering & Technology division at Bayer AG. He has made significant contributions to the development of the automation and digitisation strategy and its implementation for production both at Bayer AG and as a member of representative boards and advocacy groups (NAMUR, VCI, Hans Böckler Foundation). In this capacity, Pötter chairs the "Enabling Industrie 4.0" NAMUR working group.
