Air Products named corporate citizen role model
Air Products has been named the 2013 Corporate Citizen Role Model and received the Green Chemical Award from China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF), recognising its outstanding performance in sustainability.
Who are CPCIF
CPCIF is a non-profit organisation with membership covering more than 300 major companies, institutions and associations in China’s petrochemical industry. Aimed at increasing the awareness of corporate social responsibility and driving the sustainable development of the petrochemical industry, the federation held the Beautiful Chemical campaign in 2013 and led the recent election of Corporate Citizen Role Model and associated awards by professional evaluations of voluntary participating companies.
The awards
55 state owned, private and foreign invested companies and 14 entrepreneurs were honoured as role models and awarded in one of the five award categories;
- Green Chemical
- Innovation
- Responsible Care
- Social Responsibility
- Outstanding entrepreneur
The judge’s panel was comprised of over 20 industry experts, academics and scholars who judged based on criteria including corporate governance, employee rights and benefits, environmental protection, safety, innovation, public communications and corporate social responsibility. Air Products won the Green Chemical Award for its sustained contribution to environmental protection, clean energy technology promotion and social responsibility.
