US gasoline and diesel price movements: week ending 13 June
Gasoline
The average US price for regular gasoline increased by one cent this week to US$ 3.69/gal. as of 16 June, 2014. This is six cents higher than the same time last year.
All regions experienced price increases. The Rocky Mountain and Midwest prices each increased two cents, to US$ 3.53/gal. and US$ 3.71/gal. respectively. The Gulf and East Coast prices both rose by one cent, to US$ 3.43/gal. and US$ 3.64/gal. respectively. The West Coast price increased by less than a cent, remaining at US$ 4.00/gal.
Diesel
The average US diesel fuel price decreased by one cent to US$ 3.88/gal., four cents more than the same time last year.
The Gulf Coast price experienced the only increase, by less than a cent, and remained at US$ 3.77/gal. The East Coast and Rocky Mountain prices each fell by two cents, to US$ 3.96/gal. and US$ 3.89/gal. respectively. The Midwest price decreased by one cent to US$ 3.84/gal. The West Coast price decreased by less than a cent to US$ 3.99/gal.
Propane inventories
US propane stocks increased by 2.0 million bbls to 51.2 million bbls as of 13 June 2014. This level is 1.9 million bbls (3.5%) lower than a year ago. Gulf Coast inventories increased by 1.6 million bbls and East Coast inventories increased by 0.4 million bbls. Meanwhile, Rocky Mountains and West Coast inventories increased by 0.1 million bbls, while Midwest inventories remained unchanged.
Propylene non-fuel use inventories represented 8.0% of total propane inventories.
