Nigeria

It has been voiced that Nigeria is going to become self sufficient when it comes to meeting petroleum product needs. This will become a possible reality when the 400 000 bpd refinery and petrochemical plant is constructed in the country.

Asia

India

The UP forest department has claimed that sharing water with the Mathura refinery is impacting the health of the Sur Sarovar bird sanctuary. The depth of the water level is having an impact on the sanctuary as the optimum level for the wildlife housed there is between 14 and 17 feet. This is the optimum level for nests and eggs to survive. When the water level drops or rises dramatically, as it is prone to do, the nests and eggs are damaged. At the time of an investigation of the water level by the Bombay Natural History Society, the water level was at 22 feet.

Japan

Yokogawa Solution Service Corporation has been awarded a FEED contract by JX Nippon Oil & Energy Corporation. Yokogawa will execute the contract for a project that will consolidate the control rooms and systems at the JXE owned Mizushima-A oil refinery. Yokogawa has already carried out a feasibility study for this project and a master plan for the execution is currently being discussed.
