US diesel and gasoline prices: week ending 14 July
Gasoline
The US average retail price of regular gasoline decreased four cents to US$ 3.64/gal. as of 14 July 2014. This is less than a cent lower than the same time last year.
According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), prices decreased in all regions of the nation except the Rocky Mountains, where the average price increased less than a cent to remain at US$ 3.64/gal. The largest price decrease was seen in the Midwest, where the price decreased eight cents to US$ 3.54/gal. The price was down four cents on the West Coast to US$ 4.00/gal. The Gulf Coast price was down two cents to US$ 3.44/gal.
Diesel
The national average diesel fuel price decreased two cents to US$ 3.89/gal., three cents higher than this time last year.
Prices decreased in all regions. The Midwest decreased the most, by three cents to US$ 3.84/gal. The West Coast, East Coast and Gulf Coast prices all decreased by two cents, to US$ 4.05/gal., US$ 3.96/gal., and US$ 3.79/gal, respectively. The Rocky Mountains price was down one cent to US$ 3.90/gal.
Propane
US propane stocks increased by 3.2 million bbls last week to 63.3 million bbls as of 11 July 2014, 5.3 million bbls (9.2%) higher than a year ago.
Gulf Coast inventories increased by 1.6 million bbls and Midwest inventories increased by 1.2 million bbls. East Coast inventories increased by 0.2 million bbls and Rocky Mountains/West Coast inventories increased by 0.1 million bbls.
Propylene non-fuel use inventories represented 6.4% of total propane inventories.
