Delta Air Lines to purchase refinery
Delta is seeking to buy the facility in hope it will help the company as it is currently struggling with high jet fuel costs. The Trainer plant has a total production capacity of 185 000 bpd. The plant’s total jet fuel production capacity is 23 000 bpd which is approximately a third of the jet fuel capacity of the entire east coast.
On 16th April it was reported that the purchase of the Trainer plant by Delta would be completed imminently. The purchase price has increased from US$ 100 million, to between US$ 100 million and US$ 125 million.
