SCIPIG awarded long term gas supply contract
Praxair, Inc. has recently been awarded a 15 year industrial gases supply contract through its subsidiary Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Industrial Gases Company (SCIPIG).
Under the terms of the agreement, SCIPIG will supply large volumes of pure oxygen to Shanghai SECCO Petrochemical Co., Ltd (SECCO), for its sulfuric acid regeneration unit. The oxygen is intended to increase the capacity of the unit, significant reduce its emission and improve overall efficiency.
SCIPIG will additionally construct a new air separation unit (ASU), with a capacity of 900 tpd of oxygen, and an integrated liquifier. Startup is anticipated for 2015.
