US gasoline and diesel price drops

Gasoline price

The US average retail price of regular gasoline decreased by two cents to US$ 3.67/gal. as of 14 May 2014, up seven cents on the same time last year.

The West Coast and Gulf Coast prices each decreased by three cents, to US$ 4.02/gal. and US$ 3.44/gal. respectively. The East Coast price decreased two cents to US$ 3.68/gal. Meanwhile, the Rocky Mountains price rose one cent to US$ 3.51/gal, and the Midwest price increased less than a cent to remain at US$ 3.60/gal.

Diesel price

The national average diesel fuel price decreased two cents to US$ 3.95/gal., up eight cents on the same time last year.

Prices declined in all regions. The Gulf Coast price decreased two cents to US$ 3.95/gal. The East Coast, Midwest, West Coast, and Rocky Mountains each decreased one cent, to US$ 4.04/gal., US$ 3.92/gal., US$ 4.04/gal., and US$ 3.97/gal. respectively.

Propane inventories

US propane stocks increased by 2.5 million bbls last week to 37.7 million bbls as of 9 May 2014. This is 4.1 million bbls (9.7%) lower than a year ago.

Gulf Coast inventories increased by 1.4 million bbls and Midwest inventories increased by 0.8 million bbls. East Coast inventories rose by 0.2 million bbls and Rocky Mountains/West Coast inventories each increased by 0.1 million bbls.

Propylene non-fuel use inventories represented 9.5% of total propane inventories.
