Chevron Corp. has named Stephen W. Green President of Chevron Asia Pacific Exploration and Production effective 1 April 2016.

Green succeeds Melody B. Meyer effective June 1. Green, who is currently Corporate Vice President of Policy, Government and Public Affairs, will oversee Chevron’s exploration and production activities in nine countries across the Asia-Pacific region – a region with which he is very familiar.

Previous to his current position, Green served as president of Chevron Indonesia Company and Managing Director of the Chevron IndoAsia Business unit from 2008 to 2011 Before joining Chevron, Green was CEO of Unocal Thailand, Ltd., and vice president of International Energy Operations for Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam from 2004 until Chevron’s merger with Unocal in 2005. After the merger, Green served through 2007 as managing director of Chevron’s Asia South business unit, adding Bangladesh, Cambodia and China to his previous responsibilities.

“Steve’s deep and proven operating experience, especially in the Asia-Pacific region, makes him eminently qualified to assume this key leadership role at this pivotal time for our business across the region,” said John S. Watson, Chevron’s Chairman and CEO. In his new role, Green will report to Jay Johnson, Chevron’s Executive Vice President of Upstream.

Joseph M. Naylor will succeed Green as Corporate Vice President of Policy, Government and Public Affairs, also effective April 1. Naylor, currently Corporate Vice President of Strategic Planning, will now report to Watson.

Since joining Chevron in 1982, Naylor served in key leadership roles in Downstream & Chemicals, Global Gas, Corporate Business Development, Upstream and, most recently, Corporate Strategic Planning. He also served as Chief Executive and Operating Officer of Sasol Chevron.

“Joe’s demonstrated success across the organisation, combined with his deep knowledge of all aspects of our business, will significantly contribute to our ability to constructively respond to important policy issues and stakeholders around the globe,” said Watson.
