Burckhardt Compression to deliver reciprocating compressors to Freeport LNG
Burckhardt Compression has been selected by CB&I and Chiyoda (engineering) and Zachary (construction) to deliver reciprocating compressors to Freeport LNG’s liquefaction and export project, Texas, US. The company will supply its flexible Laby® Compressors, which are suitable for the varying gas conditions at Freeport LNG’s export terminal, and which allow oil-free compression of LNG boil-off gas (BOG).
The Laby Compressors are used for BOG handling in LNG export terminals as the contactless labyrinth sealing system allows oil-free compression of LNG BOG at suction temperatures down to -170 °C.
The skid mounted and ready to bolt up reciprocating compressor systems are expected to be delivered by the end of 2016.
