Hydrocarbon Engineering,
Amy Farrell, Vice President of Market Development for America's Natural Gas Alliance, released the following statement on the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission's (FERC) order on electricity capacity markets:
"While we are still reviewing FERC's order on capacity performance, it appears the order supports electricity reliability and allows for natural gas to be a growing part of our nation's energy mix.
"Specifically, provisions in the order that enable natural gas combined cycle units to secure fuel and invest in infrastructure can lead to reliable electricity supply and allow the PJM region to take advantage of our nation's natural gas abundance.
"We look forward to continuing our work with FERC and all regional transmission organisations to ensure market policies are in place that make it possible for all American electricity consumers to benefit from this clean and affordable energy resource."
