Hydrocarbon Engineering,
Lanner, a leader in the field of simulation-based decision making software, has been awarded a 12 month contract by a major US LNG operator to supply its LNG Logistics Simulator. The customised software – which will be delivered this month – will enable the operator to model multiple scenarios for the expansion of its LNG export terminal in Louisiana.
Following a competitive evaluation of logistics tools on the market, the operator selected Lanner’s LNG Logistics Simulator due to its rapid delivery and adaptability to complex marine challenges. The software will provide independent, evidence-based decision support to the company to validate technical project assumptions and clarify the commercial and operational risks of the expansion. The technology will also enable the operator to minimise financial loss by assessing the impact of investment in infrastructure and transportation.
Steve Hemsley, Solutions Sales Director at Lanner, added: “We’re thrilled to be working on this exciting expansion project. The LNG market is competitive and dynamic, and the industry needs solutions that can simulate the implications of decisions throughout the project lifecycle to improve operational efficiency.”
The expansion project will include additional LNG trains adjacent to the current receiving terminal. The LNG Logistics Simulator will not only help to validate the operator’s current plans but allow it to recognise the implications of its associated shipping and marine operations.
