Saudi Aramco Lubricating Oil Refining Co.
Saudi Aramco Lubricating Oil Refining Co. has estimated the cost of expanding the Yanbu refinery to reach US$ 1 billion. The facility currently processes 280 000 tpy of oil lubricants and, once expanded, will be able to produce oil of type three.

JGC Corp., Saipem, Foster Wheeler and Jacobs Engineering are all expected to place bids for the FEED contract by mid March.

Marathon Oil Corp.
The predicted cost of expanding Marathon Oil’s Garyville, Louisiana, refinery ended up rising to US$ 3.9 billion. The refinery is now one of the five largest in the USA, however, the estimated expansion cost rose by US$ 200 million just before completion. The facility’s processing capacity has risen from 256 000 bpd to 436 000 bpd.

UAE contacts
GS Engineering and Construction, Korea, has won contracts worth US$ 3.6 billion from Takreer. GS E&C have won packages II and VII for the Ruwais refinery project in Abu Dhabi. Package II involves the construction of an FCC plant and package VII is for the construction of port facilities. Package II is the biggest international contract ever awarded to a Korean builder.

Samsung Engineering has been awarded the contracts for package III and package I. The contract for package III is worth US$ 2.73 billion and package I is worth US$ 2.12 billion and is for the construction of a crude distillation unit. Daewoo Engineering and Construction has been awarded package IV worth US$ 1.17 billion to construct a storage tank facility.
