Keyuan Petrochemicals Inc., has begun constructing a styrene-butadiene-styrene (SBS) facility in Ningbo, Zhejian Province, China. This plant will be built next to the company’s current petrochemical facility in the area.
Keyuan Petrochemicals has also managed to secure the financing required for the construction of a new petrochemical production facility. The company has acquired US$ 20.3 million to purchase the raw construction materials needed.
Indian Oil Corporation has announced that it is considering revising its product mix at the Paradip petrochemical facility. The petrochemical complex will be part of the 15 million tpy refinery being built by the company. IOC are looking to carry out a new feasibility study before making a final decision.
HC Petrochem Co. Ltd. has selected UOP LLC to provide UOP Parex™ and UOP Isomar™ for the expansion of aromatics production at the Daesan, South Korea facility. The processes will help triple production of high purity paraxylene.
Middle East
It has been announced that from March 20th – September 6th in the Iranian calendar year, Assaulyeh petrochemical complexes produced over 7.2 million t of petrochemicals. 7.14 million t of total production was exported for approximately US$ 4.2 billion. As a whole, Iran produced 16 million t of petrochemicals during the same period.
