Basic design and engineering contract awarded to Chiyoda
Chiyoda Singapore Limited has been awarded a contract by Shell Eastern Petroleum Limited, Singapore. The contract is for a basic design and engineering package for the desulfurisation facilities at Shell’s Pulau Bukom Refinery, Singapore. Chiyoda Singapore Limited will act as prime contractor in collaboration with Chiyoda Corporation.
Contract details
The initial contract is estimated to take nine months to complete with an option to extend the phase for an additional three years. The work will include basic engineering and cost estimates for the next project phase.
This work follows on from an engineering, procurement service and construction management contract Chiyoda Corporation won in August 2007, for the long residue catalytic cracker unit revamp at the same facility.
Group company strength
Chiyoda is hoping to strengthen Chiyoda Singapore Limited as the regional headquarters in South East Asia. This area is of great interest to the Chiyoda group as it implements a new mid-term management plan which will be fully implemented by March 2013. Chiyoda group’s long relationship with Shell and this award of this contract will be a great help in boosting the company’s growth and experience in the region.
