API has announced that Stacy Linden has been promoted to General Counsel for the association effective immediately.

“Stacy is a talented and respected advocate for our industry,” said Jack Gerard, API President and CEO. “She has a keen knowledge of the legal issues regarding the oil and gas sector, as well as extensive experience in large scale, multi-district litigation. It gives me great pleasure to recognise her strong contribution to API with this promotion.”

Stacy Linden joined API in 2007 and has served as Managing Counsel for legal affairs at API since late 2009, providing litigation counsel, advice on political and regulatory compliance issues, and legal strategy for the oil and gas sector. Immediately preceding her tenure at API, Linden served as a litigation associate for several D.C.-area law firms, including Hogan Lovells, Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, and Jones Day. Linden holds a Bachelor of Arts, magna cum laude, from The Catholic University of America, and received her Juris Doctor, summa cum laude, from The American University.

“I am honoured to serve as general counsel for an organisation that represents such a broad business membership and an industry that is the cornerstone of our country’s economic health,” said Linden. “API’s legal team is among the best in the business and I look forward to addressing the challenges before us.”
