US gasoline and diesel prices: Week ending 2 July 2014
Gasoline
According to the US Energy Information Administration (EIA), the average price of retail gasoline was unchanged this week, remaining at US$ 3.70/gal. as of 30 June, up 21 cents from the same time last year.
The average West Coast price rose by three cents to be US$ 4.04/gal., while Rocky Mountain price rose two cents to US$ 3.63/gal. Meanwhile, the east Coast price increased by one cent to US$ 3.68/gal. The Midwest price decreased by two cents to US$ 3.67/gal., and the Gulf Coast price decreased one cent to US$ 3.48/gal.
Diesel
The US average price of diesel fuel increased by less than a cent last week, to remain at US$ 3.92/gal., up 10 cents from the same time last year.
The West Coast price rose two cents to US$ 4/07/gal. The Rocky Mountains and Gulf Coast prices both increased by less than a cent, to US$ 3.92/gal. and US$ 3.82/gal. respectively. Meanwhile, the Midwest price decreased by one cent to US$ 3.87/gal. East Coast price fell less than a cent to US$ 3.98/gal.
Propane
Propane inventories increased by 2.8 million bbls to 56.2 million bbls as of 27 June 2014. This is 0.1 million bbls (0.2%) lower than a year ago.
Gulf Coast inventories increased by 1.9 million bbls and Midwest inventories increased by 0.4 million bbls. East Coast inventories and Rocky Mountains/West Coast inventories both increased by 0.1 million bbls.
Propylene non-fuel use inventories represented 7.3% of total propane inventories.
