ASTM

ASTM International has recognised Lawrence Wilkinson, Chemist at ExxonMobil Refining & Supply Co, Baton Rouge, Louisiana, with the 2014 ASTM Award of Merit. The award and its accompanying title of fellow is ASTM’s highest organisational recognition for individual contributions to standards activities. The Committee D02 on Petroleum Products, Liquid Fuels and Lubricants cited Wilkinson for his respected technical expertise and dedicated leadership in maintaining standards within a number of D02 subcommittees.

Wilkinson joined ExxonMobil in 1990 as special lab technician and was promoted to chemist in the Baton Rouge Refinery Quality Assurance Laboratory in 1993. He serves as the lab’s hazard communication contact and as the management of change sponsor for changes involving the use of new chemicals. Prior to joining ExxonMobil, Wilkinson was a high school chemistry and physics teacher.

CH2M HILL

CH2M Hill announced that Lee McIntire will retire as Chairman of the Board of Directors at the September 2014 Board Meeting. McIntire served as CEO from 2009 to 2013 and as Chairman since 2010. He joined the firm in 2006 as President and COO. During that time the company experienced significant growth, expanding in the US and internationally.

McIntire guided CH2M HILL from 15 000 employees with US$ 3 billion in annual revenues when he joined the company to a firm with 27 000 employees and US$ 6 billion of revenue today. During McIntire’s tenure, the company has been recognised by Ethisphere as one of the World’s Most Ethical Companies and repeatedly named to the FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For List. He is also widely credited with inspiring the company’s renlentless focus on safety.

Linde

Peter Vermeulen has joined Linde as head of Human Resources for North and South American where he is responsible for all HR activities. Most recently, Vermeulen was vice president Talent Management & Diversity for Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Prior to that, he held various HR management and leadership roles at J&J, including positions in Europe and the US, as well as with DHL and Shell Oil Company. He is a vigorous advocate for human rights and social justice initiatives and actively supports the efforts of The United Way and the American Red Cross, among other international organisations.

MESA

MESA has recently hired Eric Frechette to lead the Business Development group. In his new role, Eric will be responsible for long term strategic growth as MESA continues to position itself as a national turnkey solutions provider offering engineering, construction, installation and products for anything that rusts in all markets and for all assets.

Eric bring over 20 years experience in all phases of corrosion engineering including predesign, cathodic protection design, field testing, failure analysis, construction inspection services, construction management, business development and marketing. Eric has successfully worked with customers in the oil and gas industry, electric power industry, transportation, water and wastewater treatment and transmission, municipalities and state government agencies in the US, Canada and the Middle East.
