Asian expansion plans
Hindustan Petroleum Corp.
Hindustan Petroleum Corp. is looking to invest in the construction of a new refinery in the Raigad district, on the western coast of India. The company are looking to construct a 16 million tpy facility with a price tag of approximately Rs 30 000 crore.
Sinopec
China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) has announced plans to increase its Shijiazhuang refinery. The company wishes to increase production capacity at the facility by 60%. The 6.4 million yuan investment will increase capacity at the Shijiazhuang facility to 8 million tpy and is expected to be online by the end of 2012.
Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka may receive a US$ 1.5 billion loan from Iran. The island has one refinery and imports all its oil. With the loan, the state run company Ceylon Petroleum Corp. hopes to increase the processing capacity of its refinery to 100 000 bpd by 2011.
