Panametrics, a Baker Hughes business and industry leader in flow meters and moisture, oxygen and hydrogen measurement systems, has announced the launch of groundbreaking new moisture measurement technology, HygroProII.

The HygroProII is the most advanced moisture transmitter on the market, providing customers with high performance and reliability.

The HygroProII is an intrinsically safe, compact, loop-powered display transmitter. Designed specifically to meet the demands of rugged industrial and oil and gas applications, it will replace the original HygroPro.

“We’re excited to launch the HygroProII,” said Colin Hehir, Vice President of Panametrics. “Already rigorously tested in the field by several customers and widely praised, the HygroProII leverages 60 years of expertise and our existing world-class moisture measurement technology to raise the bar on performance and reliability. The HygroProII is expected to be the first of a series of new technologies that we will bring to market.”

Using Panametrics’ aluminum oxide FX sensor, the HygroProII can accurately measure moisture in gases and hydrocarbon liquids across dew/frost point temperatures ranging from -110°C to +20°C. Optimising performance, the HygroProII provides customers with extra measurement data through its HART digital output and is also fitted with integrated pressure and temperature sensors.

The HygroProII will support customers’ critical applications where precision, accuracy and reliability are essential. These include moisture measurement in natural gas processing to ensure quality and prevent corrosion, hydrogen recycle streams in refineries to optimise catalyst performance, and a myriad of petrochemical processing applications where the presence of water vapour impacts product quality and yields. Panametrics’ new technology, which is available now, will also support energy transition applications including: biogas upgrading; carbon capture and storage (CCS); and hydrogen production, transportation and storage.
