Once operational, Air Products says that the net-zero complex will produce clean hydrogen and capture and permanently sequester carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions.
It is expected to position Alberta as the centre of western Canada’s hydrogen economy. Under the agreement, Worley’s Edmonton modularisation yard will fabricate and assemble process and pipe rack modules, implementing automated pipe-cutting techniques and robotic welding. Worley’s Edmonton modularisation yard is located adjacent to Air Product’s Net-Zero Hydrogen Energy Complex.
“We’re pleased to work with Air Products on this significant complex, consistent with our purpose of delivering a more sustainable world, as we partner with our customers to deliver a lower carbon future,” said Chris Ashton, CEO of Worley.
