Siemens enhances process optimisation portfolio

Published by , Assistant Editor
Hydrocarbon Engineering,

To extend the process optimising advantages of the digital Coriolis flow meter platform to low-flow applications (such as batching, dosing and filling of both liquids and gases), the Sitrans FCT030 and FCT010 digital transmitters can now be paired with the Sitrans F C MASS 2100 and Sitrans FC300 Coriolis sensors for small line sizes from DI 1.5 to DN 15.

With this enhancement, a range of users from chemical applications can benefit from mass flow accuracy of 0.1%, density accuracy of 0.5 kg/m3 and 100 Hz signal processing. The product scope has been further broadened to incorporate larger line sizes that are often employed by oil and gas, marine, and chemical operations. The Sitrans FCS400 sensor program has now grown to include sizes DN 100 and DN 150. As a result, the FCS400 portfolio is suitable for several applications, including bunkering and bulk chemical measurement.

The FCS400 is a compact Coriolis sensor that features a robust frame immune to process noise and a variety of customisable process connectors for standard, hygienic and NAMUR applications.

Several additional advancements to the transmitter line have been implemented to provide greater flexibility in installation and simplicity in operation. The FCT030 now offers a wall-mount enclosure that enables remote configurations complemented by the option for Modbus or PROFIBUS DP/PA digital communication, an ideal protocol for processes requiring fast data exchange.

The fully graphical human-machine interface (HMI) has been redesigned with an even easier-to-navigate layout. The SensorFlash® microSD card has also been enriched with an advanced datalogging and audit trail feature, which automatically stores up to 100 records per log of process parameters, diagnostic parameters or changes made to device settings.
