Downstream construction plans and contracts
Bahrain
GS Engineering and Construction, South Korea has been awarded a contract by Bahrain Petroleum Company. The contract is for the construction of a US$ 70 million wastewater treatment plant which will be part of the Sitra refinery. Construction is estimated to take approximately two years.
China
Construction of the joint venture refinery between PetroChina and Rosneft, Russia is now underway. The facility will have a capacity of 13 million tpy and is located in Tianjin. The joint venture are investing US$ 5 billion into the project.
Equatorial Guinea
KBR Inc., USA, has been chosen to design a 20 000 bpd facility for the African nation of Equatorial Guinea. The country hopes to open up bids for construction by the middle of 2011.
Vietnam
The Kuwaiti Oil Ministry has renewed its contract with Vietnam for the construction of a refining and petrochemical project in Vietnam. The joint venture is hopefully going to be constructed and online by 2014.
