The compressor packages were ordered by Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) companies responsible for executing three parallel projects within the Boaventura Energy Complex in Itaboraí, Rio de Janeiro. The equipment will be used in natural gas processing as well as new refining and lubricant production units.
Formerly known as Comperj, the Boaventura Energy Complex is a key element of Petrobras' decarbonisation strategy. The site combines cleaner natural gas processing with future initiatives in green hydrogen research and biorefining projects focused on sustainable aviation fuel (SAF), making it one of Brazil's most important energy infrastructure projects.

The contract reflects Burckhardt Compression's increased focus on South America and the close collaboration established with Petrobras and its project partners in recent years. Supported by its recently opened additional service centre in Brazil, the company continues to strengthen its local presence and service capabilities across the region.
