SOFEC has announced that it has been awarded an EPC project by Par Hawaii Refining Company (PAR) for the supply of a replacement CALM Buoy at Barbers Point in Oahu, Hawaii.
SOFEC has previously supplied the two CALM Buoys at this location (1987 and 2010) and is now supplying a third CALM Buoy for PAR.
SOFEC’s President & CEO, Arun Duggal said: “SOFEC’s relationship with PAR highlights the long-term commitment SOFEC has to supporting its client for the continued life of their production facilities and making adjustments to suit the client’s specific needs. I congratulate PAR for their continued success and thank them for their trust in SOFEC with this important project.”
This new CALM Buoy will utilise the field proven SOFEC turntable type CALM Buoy further customised to improve PAR’s offshore operations. The CALM Buoy will be moored in a water depth of 31 m, designed to berth tankers up to 150 000 DWT and can transfer three separate products (crude oil, bunker fuel and white oil) to meet the energy demands of Hawaii.
