Salalah Methanol Company LLC (SMC) has awarded SNC-Lavalin an engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contract for an anhydrous liquid ammonia plant located in Salalah, Oman.
The contract covers the plant’s utilities and off-site infrastructure. The facility will produce anhydrous liquid ammonia using a technology provided by Linde Group.
The project is expected to begin in March 2017 with SNC-Lavalin initially performing the early works programme.
Upon closing of financing by SMC, expected to occur in June 2017, SNC-Lavalin will continue with the engineering, procurement of equipment, construction and commissioning of the facility.
