A supplier of premium products and services to the oil and gas service industry has repeated purchases of Vesconite Hilube bushings for Roper gear pumps, following the bushings' successful in-field performance on the pumps’ drive and the driven (idler) gear shafts.
The company initially tested Vesconite Hilube bushings in November 2022. These were introduced as an alternative to the standard bronze bushings typically fitted to Roper gear pumps. Following a promising performance, the client returned with an order for 10 additional sets in July 2024 and again in March 2025 with a further 12 sets.
“They seem to be holding up better than the bronze bushings they came with,” confirms a company spokesperson.
Roper gear pumps, manufactured in the US, are widely used to pump high-viscosity fluids, such as bitumen, molasses, and resins—all known for their challenging flow characteristics and abrasive properties.
Vesconite Bearings technical representative Juan van Wyk notes that repeat orders are a key indicator of performance satisfaction.
