Haldia Petrochemicals Ltd. (HPL), a key player in India’s petrochemical sector, is set to inaugurate its new phenol and acetone manufacturing facility in October 2026, West Bengal, India, according to various media outlets.

The project is being developed under Adplus Polymers & Chemicals, and will feature India’s first on-purpose propylene unit based on olefin conversion technology and the country’s largest phenol plant. The project is estimated to have cost ?6000-crore (US$627 million).
Once complete, the facility will strengthen India’s domestic chemicals capacity, aiding the production of pharmaceuticals, paints, coatings, and automotive components.
