Casale has announced the launch of a new project in partnership with Anhui Haoyuan Chemical Group, a major player in China’s chemical industry. This initiative marks a key milestone in a relationship built on trust, innovation, and long-term collaboration.

The new melamine production plant will feature Casale’s uLEM-N technology, with a design capacity of 60 000 tpy, and will be fully integrated into an urea plant operated by Anhui Haoyuan.

This is the third project developed together, following the implementation of two 1500 tpd ammonia synthesis loop plants based on Casale’s N-LOOP™ technology. These collaborations demonstrate the strength and continuity of the partnership – one that keeps evolving toward higher efficiency and lower environmental impact.

At the centre of this new plant is uLEM-N, Casale’s advanced melamine process innovation, which introduces a significant shift in sustainable design by:

  • Eliminating caustic soda usage entirely due to the ammonia-based purification.
  • Featuring an efficient and proven high-pressure synthesis section.
  • Using proven urea-based off-gas scrubbing.
  • Operating with a zero liquid discharge (ZLD) approach.
  • Ensuring simplest integration with urea plants.
  • Reducing CAPEX and optimising operations.
