Huntington Ingalls Industries has announced that its SN3 subsidiary has received a 4 year, US$300 000 contract from the city of Carlsbad, New Mexico, for landfill engineering services.

SN3 will provide groundwater and air quality monitoring and compliance, post-closure compliance, and other related services for the closed Carlsbad Municipal Landfill. SN3 has held previous contracts for this work since 2005 and has assisted the city in bringing its groundwater monitoring and reporting programme into regulatory compliance.

“SN3 has been a part of the Carlsbad community since 1989, and we look forward to continuing our service to the city,” said SN3 Vice President Don George. “We appreciate this vote of confidence in our work.”

SN3 is a full-service nuclear operations and environmental services company that combines the expertise of HII’s former S.M. Stoller Corp. and Newport News Nuclear subsidiaries.

Huntington Ingalls Industries is a military shipbuilding company and a provider of manufacturing, engineering and management services to the nuclear energy, oil and gas markets. For more than a century, HII’s Newport News and Ingalls shipbuilding divisions in Virginia and Mississippi have built more ships in more ship classes than any other US naval shipbuilder. Headquartered in Newport News, Virginia, HII employs nearly 37 000 people operating both domestically and internationally.
