Hexagon’s PPM division has become the first software provider to officially conform to the new process industry standard, Capital Facility Information Handover Specification (CFIHOS) version 1.3.

CFIHOS was created by the process industry community to offer a more useful and pragmatic standard for data handover, resulting in reduced overall project costs and improved operational performance in the future. This could potentially represent 2-4% of the capital cost of owner operators’ projects, which are typically on the scale of many millions or billions of dollars.

Owner operators can expect a similar percentage reduction in costs with improved safety and reduced operational risks in all areas of their operation through faster access to the precise data and documents needed to execute work efficiently. This results in expedited and better-informed decisions.

Hexagon made the strategic decision to align its new cloud-based Intergraph Smart® Digital Asset (SDA) platform of Asset Lifecycle Information Management (ALIM) solutions with CFIHOS based on customers’ enthusiasm for the standard.

Mattias Stenberg, President, Hexagon’s PPM division, said:

“Hexagon is investing in digital transformation and data standards are a key first step to sharing information internally and also across third-party lines. CFIHOS is the standard that enables this, and we are thrilled to be first. By standardising on CFIHOS, software implementation costs can be reduced through the removal of individual customisation, allowing development teams to focus on adding significant business value.”

Hexagon’s PPM division will host a session titled ‘A Digital Opportunity with CFIHOS’ during HxGN LIVE 2018, the premier cross-industry technology conference, on 14 June in Las Vegas.
