India’s Sanmar is planning to invest approximately US$350 million in the expansion of its Egyptian petrochemical plant, Trust Chemical Industries (TCI). According to local press reports, this project will bring the company’s total investment in the country to US$1.45 billion.

Sanmar acquired TCI, which is located in Port Said, in 2007 and is planning to make it the largest integrated producer of caustic soda and PVC in the Middle East and North Africa. The expansion project has been examined and approved by the company, according to Chairman Vijay Sankar.
