Transpetro increases pipeline capacity to Brazilian terminal

Following an upgrade to the São Sebastião-Vale do Paraíba pipeline, Transpetro has increased oil transport capacity to the Tebar processing terminal in Brazil. The Tebar terminal, located in São Sebastião, São Paulo, is the largest Transpetro terminal, with a liquid storage capacity of 2 million m3.

A new pump installed on the São Sebastião-Vale do Paraíba pipeline, which supplies refineries in Paulinia and São José dos Campos, has resulted in a 15% increase in oil flow to the terminal. The new equipment is part of a pipeline pumping system project for oil extracted from the Campos basin. Another advantage of the installation of the new pumps is the increased performance when operating with higher viscosity, heavier oil, resulting in improved quality of supply from refineries and lower operating and maintenance costs.
