The 2016 Gasification and Syngas Technologies Conference (GSTC) will highlight emerging markets, spotlight advances in syngas and methanol production, and provide the latest updates on global projects and important trends in biomass and waste gasification. GSTC is hosting the event 16 – 19 October in Vancouver, Canada.

The annual conference is the gasification and syngas industries' largest and most prestigious event; attracting speakers, participants and media from the Americas, Asia and Europe. This year's conference will have a special focus on methanol after GSTC formed a strategic partnership with the Methanol Institute.

"We're excited to be bringing the industries' top leaders and foremost experts together at our newly expanded conference," said Alison Kerester, GSTC's Executive Director. "We're now focusing on all syngas producing technologies, methanol, and new syngas markets, such as syngas for fuel cells. So this will be the ideal place to meet a lot of key people in each of these industries."

Formerly known as the Gasification Technologies Council, the association expanded this year to encompass the syngas production, processing and conversion industries. This year's conference has expanded as well.

Among the topics to be covered in detail:

  • Emerging markets for methanol.
  • Methanol plant expansion to increase profitability.
  • Syngas to liquid fuels.
  • Syngas production.
  • Syngas for fuel cells.
  • Syngas to hydrogen, ammonia/urea and derivatives.
  • Syngas cleaning and conditioning.
  • Waste and biomass to energy.
  • Technology and equipment advances.
  • Updates on global projects.

The preliminary agenda can be found here with new speakers and presentations added regularly. The conference's gold sponsors include Synthesis Energy Systems and KP Engineering; silver sponsors include CB&I; and bronze sponsors include GE.
