Linde North America Inc., has announced a new production joint venture with Air Products to build a large-scale air separation unit (ASU) and industrial gas liquefier in Glenmont, NY. The 50/50 joint venture will operate under the name East Coast Nitrogen and will produce liquid oxygen, nitrogen and argon.

"This new venture further underscores our continued expansion in our gas application technologies while at the same time adding to our reliability and efficiency of our network."
The new facility will be built at an existing Air Products' location in Glenmont, NY and is expected to begin operations toward the end of December/fourth quarter of 2018 (4Q18).
The plant will have a production capacity of over 1000 tpd of LOX and LIN and will serve the growing requirements of customers from the food, manufacturing, metals, glass, chemical, electronics and healthcare industries. The new plant is designed to be extremely energy efficient while maximising production capability.
