The PlanET Biogas Group has constructed a biogas plant in the Philippines, on the island of Bantayan; the plant took 129 days to construct and began producing biogas for Welissa Farm Corp. in December last year, using chicken manure and hog slurry.

The project began in January 2017 with the construction of two concrete tanks. Local workers built the two tanks, of 30 m dia. and 8 m height, in cooperation with PlanET. After the concrete work's successful completion, the plant's finalisation took 129 days.

The electricity production from biogas is now benefitting the island's grid stability, and the use of animal by-products has reduced CO2 emissions.
