Eco-Energy commences construction at Selma ethanol facility

Hydrocarbon Engineering,

Eco-Energy Distribution Services, a leading biofuel supply chain company, has announced the start of construction of its distribution facility, located in the terminal complex area in Selma, NC. The project includes service agreements with Marathon Petroleum Company LP, which will upgrade its terminal to receive, store and load biofuels. The newly connected facilities will be equipped to receive 96 tank cars daily via the Norfolk Southern Railway for outbound ethanol distribution via pipeline connection and/or tank truck delivery to all the area’s gasoline blending locations.

Eco-Energy will finally see the Selma facility become a reality as the industry will benefit from an optimised ethanol supply chain into one of the fastest growing gasoline markets in the US. The companies continued commitment to downstream investment is intended to improve the logistical issues for their users. “We believe this facility accomplishes that goal,” stated Chadwick Conn, Eco-Energy’s Vice President of Distribution.
